How do I go about getting a deposit back from a company that has filed Chapter 13?

Gators3 asked: I hired a company to install a steel gate and gave them a check for $1600. They just contacted me to advise that they are filing for chapter 13 bankruptsy. Do I have any recourse in getting my money back? Sounds like fraud to me. Help!
